The news of Flex Wheeler emergency leg surgery shocked many fans and the whole bodybuilding fraternity in 2019. 

Before this leg injury, Flex in the year 1994 got a fatal road accident. Some people thought that this was the main cause of his leg complication, but the fact is that it not according to doctors.

Factually, Flex leg complications took place more than twenty-five years after the road accident and one year after undergoing treatment for other health problems.

 Flex Wheeler after the road accident paid a visit for a medical checkup to a nearby Healthcare Centre where he finds out that he had focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a form of kidney disease.

The sickness was linked to the use of steroids since continuous use of it can lead to some health complications.

In 2004, Flex Wheeler was told by his doctor to go for a kidney transplant, which went successful.
